Peter Lorenz  -  Principal

Mr. Lorenz earned his teaching degree¬†from Concordia University ‚Äď Wisconsin and has been teaching since 2006. Mr. Lorenz is also a graduate of Zion Lutheran School who was blessed to be Called to return here to teach in 2014. He has a passion for Lutheran Education and sees it as an amazing ministry opportunity for the church. In 2021, he accepted the call to be principal.¬†In his free time Mr. Lorenz enjoys time with his wife and children, and loves watching the New York Islanders and all Wisconsin sports teams.

Rev. Dean A. Dummer  -  Interim Pastor

Pastor Dummer graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1981 and was ordained at Berea Lutheran (Milwaukee), his home congregation. Pastor began parish ministry in small town Greybull, WY, and has since served at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Grace Lutheran in Geneseo, IL, and Grace Lutheran, Oak Creek, WI where he served for 22 years. After retiring on February 23, 2020, Pastor Dummer has returned to parish ministry to serve as Zion's Interim Pastor.

Carolyn Kruschel  -  Church and School Secretary                                             

Mrs. Kruschel is a great blessing to the family of Zion.  She is the first voice you hear at Zion if you call on the phone. She is the person every child with a boo-boo will go to for a band aid or ice. Mrs. Kruschel takes care of all of us, 


Beth Eubank  -  4 Year Old Kindergarten Teacher (4K)                                          

Mrs. Eubank teaches because she wants to help children develop a love for Christ and learning. Mrs. Eubank is a graduate of Kendall College. Mrs. Eubank is married to her husband Michael and together have two grown children Ethan and Rachel. Rachel attended Zion during her middle school years. Mrs. Eubank loves to read, garden, walk and listen to music.

 

 

Scott Boris  -  5 Year Old Kindergarten Teacher (5K)

Mr. Boris was born in San Diego and grew up in California.  His family moved to Minnesota when he was in High School. He likes purple football teams from Minnesota soheI usually gets a lot of ribbing for that. Mr. Boris is a graduate of Concordia Mequon with a major in Elementary Ed and a minor in Early Childhood education.  He has been a preschool teacher of 3's and 4's for 24 years. He also taught 2 years of Kindergarten while he was an administrator of the last preschool for 16 years.  He spent the last 2 years as a starving woodworker and artist. His main passion is in teaching and it is what brings him the greatest joy. When not teaching, Mr. Boris loves to make things out of wood, loves to go fishing and exploring God's creation.

Jenny McCarthy  -  1st Grade Teacher

Mrs. McCarthy loves kids and seeing how much they grown in faith and knowledge each year. Mrs. McCarthy is married to her husband Dan, and they are the proud parents of Harrison and Ben. A graduate of Concordia University-Wisconsin, Mrs. McCarthy taught in 6th grade prior to coming to Zion. Mrs. McCarthy likes to go for walks with her dog Tucker, camping and anything Disney.


 

Melissa Mullikin  -  2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher          

Mrs. Mullikin is a graduate of Concordia University - Wisconsin. She is married to her husband Tyler, together they have a daughter Eloise who attends Zion Lutheran School. Mrs. Mullikin feels God’s call to spread the word of His Son. She loves the challenge and diversity that teaching offers. She also thinks children are fun!

Adrienne Budnik  -  4th Grade Teacher                                                                 

Mrs. Budnik has attended a Lutheran school all of her life. She knew that God wanted her to work with His precious lambs. A graduate of Concordia University-Wisconsin, Mrs. Budnik is also a graduate of Zion. Married to her husband Leo, together they have two daughters who also attend Zion. In her free time, Mrs. Budnik likes to bowl, play volleyball, softball and golf, camp, waterski and wakeboard.

Emilie Blanck  -  5/6th Grade Homeroom Teacher

Miss Blanck is at 2019 graduate of Concordia University ‚Äď Wisconsin. She attended St. Paul‚Äôs Lutheran School in Oconomowoc and Lake Country Lutheran High School. She teaches science and English for our middle school students. Her interests include choir, dance, theatre, volleyball, softball, swimming, Girl Scouts, baking and cooking.

Alicia Bietz  -  7/8th Grade Homeroom Teacher   

Mrs. Bietz was baptized at Elm Grove Lutheran Church and attended Elm Grove Lutheran School (where her father was the principal). From there, she attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School eventually graduating from UW-LaCrosse with a degree in Elementary Education. After 15 years teaching in the Milwaukee Public Schools, she changed calling and accepted a middle school position at Our Redeemer Lutheran School where she taught for 20 years. Mrs. Bietz currently teaches middle school at Zion with ‚Öě homeroom as her base. She¬† is married to Michael and together they enjoyed raising three sons who now reside in Pittsburgh, LaCrosse, and Grand Junction, CO. Together with her husband they¬† love to camp, hike, travel, visit their boys, and spend time at their cottage.

Michelle Thompson  -  Music Teacher

Mrs. Thompson graduated Carroll College in 2006 with her degree in music education.  She has been teaching at Zion since 2016. She teaches music to all grades 4k to 8th.

Mrs. Thompson is a wife and mother of 2 girls . When not teaching, she works as the store manager at Craig Husar Fine Diamonds. 

Anne Widener  -  Band Instructor

Mrs. Widener graduated from UW-Milwaukee in December, 1987.  She started teaching in a Catholic Grade School program in January, 1988. In 1988 she was the band director at Thomas More H.S. and also the St. Francis Public Schools.  In 1989 she was hired by the Lutheran High School Association as a band director for the elementary program.  She is currently the district program director.

She lives in Shorewood with her husband, Greg.  They have 2 children, David and Gary.
